How buying works

Just like shopping on IKEA.se, browse items and check out to reserve them, then arrange a time to pick up your new treasure. For peace of mind, buyer protection is free until 1 January 2027 – usually 5% of the purchase price.

FAQ

  • IKEA second-hand marketplace is a free service for IKEA Family members, and there are no listing or commission fees to pay. In addition, buyer protection fees are waived until 1 January 2027. After that, all buyers will pay 5% of the purchase price to cover secure payment, peace of mind during pick-up, and support if something goes wrong.

  • Once you’ve reserved an item, it’s up to you and the seller to arrange a time and place to meet. If a delivery service is available in your region, you can also choose to have your item delivered for a fee. Delivery costs are calculated based on the item’s size and weight, along with the distance from the seller’s address to yours.

  • Give the seller some time to reply. If you don’t hear back and can’t arrange a pick-up, you can cancel the order for a full refund and keep browsing for a similar item.

  • You can cancel on the spot during pick-up if the item isn’t as expected. If you’ve already taken it home, you have 48 hours to contact our support team to request a refund – for things like missing parts, undisclosed damage, or if it’s not an authentic IKEA product.
